May 13th - Opening Day!
This year the Orchard's operating hours have changed. During May, visit on Saturday and/or Sunday, 10 a.m to 5 p.m..
June 1st through October 29th - visit Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Beginning June 4th, musical performances take place in the enclosed Orchard pavilion. Check the Orchard site or our event calendar for dates and hours.
Legendary Charlie McKinney made his home here. Now, the site is much more than a century old apple orchard. Take home unforgettable memories of bluegrass music, hay rides, clogging, mountain cooking, area artists and craftsmen, original plays, storytelling and much more. Homemade treats, fudge, ice cream and the lunch wagon will fill your tummy, not to mention the delicious heirloom apples! Milepost 328.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Open May through October. Check their website, sometimes they extend the season into the first week or so in November...you never know how long the leaf colors will be here!
