What takes your breath away? For me, it's the fall view sheds filled with amazing colors and cloud configurations. Over the weekend the high country elevations peaked! Along the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Milepost 316 colors will remain for several days before leaves begin to fall.
The good news? South of Milepost 316 elevations are lower and leaf colors develop at a slower pace. This image was taken recently at the Deer Lick Overlook, facing south, at Milepost 337.2.
For those visiting this week or next week, you may want to enjoy leaf colors via country backroads and the Blue Ridge Parkway, ask us about the Lake James Loop. It's a two +/- hour drive with remarkable elevation changes.
