The Catawba Falls trail will close on May 2, 2022, and remain closed until spring of 2023. The popular Old Fort area trail will be closed for 9-12 months to ensure the safety of the public and construction crews building retaining walls, boardwalks, staircases, and overlooks. Ideas For Spring Adventure

Spring is a perfect time to enjoy a mountain hike, downhill MTB challenge, or running trail. Every day hikers consider Point Lookout Trail.  It's just under 4 miles, one way, opening to stunning views of the Royal Gorge or visit one of our area's waterfalls.  Catawba Falls, Linville Falls, Crabtree Falls, and Tom's Creek Falls are local favorites.

If you're looking for more of a challenge, book an excursion with Little Switzerland's Thrifty Adventures or call Old Fort's Catawba Angler to float local streams and rivers.  Opening in June, Catawba River Outdoors begins their seasonal river tubing floats.  Find details under our "Play" tab!
