With professional forecasters predicting an extended leaf season, you have plenty of time to plan your fall Blue Ridge Mountain get-away. Keep in mind, there are several October special events, including Old Fort's Fall Festival taking place Saturday, October 1st on the grounds of Mountain Gateway Museum. More reasons to visit often!
In Marion, October 1st marks the opening day for the Mountain Glory Quilters Guild Show inside the McDowell Arts Council Gallery and Gift Shop. The show continues through October 31st.
October 8th, marks the 33rd Annual Mountain Glory Festival in downtown Marion, NC. Shop with more than 100 vendors, enjoy a variety of musical performances throughout the day, pick up some food treats or dine with downtown restaurants.
In Little Switzerland, shop with members of the Artists of Little Switzerland Society on October 7th and 8th at Geneva Hall. This local art guild features a variety of mediums and they operate a local gallery on the second floor of Books and Beans, in Little Switzerland Downtown! You'll find Little Switzerland a few yards off the Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 334, or follow the DiamondbackNC (aka Hwy. 226-A) to downtown!
