Old Homesite Tour
Before there was Lake James, the Catawba River and Paddy’s Creek were home to communities of farmers. Their legacy remains along the lakeshore in the homesite ruins they left behind. We can learn a lot about life during those times through the structures they built. Join Ranger Engels on a hike to some of the homesites along park trails. Meet at the Paddy’s Creek Area bathhouse breezeway at 9 a.m. for this popular and informative trip back in time. Call the Park office, 828-584-7728 for more information.
