A Golden New Year's Eve Celebration

8:30 p.m. - midnight
Downtown Marion Main Street

The Marion Rotary Club has created an enthusiastic following of revelers celebrating New Year's Eve with a Gold Nugget Drop on Marion's Main Street. This street party is family-friendly. A list of activities is below, check the Marion Rotary Club's Facebook page for updates and additions. Costume Contest On-site at All Things Geeky by 2 Nerds, 29 Logan Street, Marion.

8 - 9:30 p.m. - Costume Contest Registration at All Things Geeky by 2 Nerds.

10 p.m. - Announcement of costume Contest winners.

Family Fun Zone sponsored by the Corpening Memorial YMCA

9 p.m. - Midnight - Enjoy carnival-style games and a variety of inflatables in the Family Fun Zone located on North Main Street.

Carriage Rides

9 p.m. - Midnight - Grab your sweetie or your family members for a carriage ride through downtown Marion. Admission varies from $2-$5 per person.

Train Rides for Kids

9 p.m. - 11 p.m. - Hop aboard the midnight express and for a short scenic train ride in downtown Marion. Free admission.

Historic Ghost Walks

9 p.m. - 12 p.m. - Join Members of the McDowell Historical Society for one of their walking tours. Tour groups leave at the top of each hour. A donation is requested from to support the Historical Society. Ghost walks begin and end at Possibilities, 81 South Main Street in Marion.
