Instructor Joyce Tromba teaches participants how to set up and maintain an organic indigo vat. Learn four of the Japanese resist technique called shibori, which was traditionally used with indigo to create patterns on white cloth over 1000 years ago and learn four methods for creating patterns: itajime, ne-maki, karamatsu and crackle.
Students take home 4 different patterns on cotton bandanas or napkins. Cost is $75 for A3L members and $85 for non-members (+25 supply fee). Minimum of five students; maximum, ten. Call Arrowhead Gallery, 828-668-1100 for more information or to register.
