Old Fort Trails and Trains Festival

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Historic Old Fort

Save the date! Old Fort is celebrating North Carolina's "Year of the Trail" with a new festival! This event celebrates this small Blue Ridge Mountain community by focusing on its pathways and connections including the town's railroad and Pisgah National Forest history.

Curtis Creek National Forest Sign

There will be guided hikes hosted by the McDowell Trails Association, a mountain bike race for youth, a 5k run/walk with proceeds benefiting the Friends of Fonta Flora State Trail, and live demonstrations to help you learn new skills or how to operate that new piece of equipment. Come hungry! There will be food trucks and more!

The Old Fort Train Depot will be the focus for anyone interested in the town's railroad history. Train related vendors, storytellers, and more will be waiting to see you!

The festival details continue to be worked out, bookmark this page and check back often. Updates, activity schedules, registration links for races, etc. will be included.
