Copper Ridge Trail
A new section of the Fonta Flora State Trail is open, Copper Ridge Trail, located outside downtown Old Fort, NC. This 3-mile, natural surface trail is steep. We wouldn't refer to it as "strenuous" but it's close! Definitely a moderate to strenuous hike and cool descent with switchbacks for mountain bikes.
From our visitor center on Catawba Avenue, walk a few feet north then turn left onto Commerce Street, walking 0.4 mile to Orchard Street, turn right. Walk/ride another 0.4 mile to intersection at Old U.S. 70, turn left. Continue walking/riding approximately 1.0 mile to trailhead on the right.
