Music at the Orchard-TAPS Kids

Enjoy an hour of old-time mountain tunes performed by a talented group of kids ages 8-15 from Mitchell and Yancey counties. The TAPS (Traditional Arts Program for Students) musicians are taught by local expert Suzie Solomon utilizing instructional techniques in local traditions that have deep cultural roots in our community. The program is funded through the NC Arts Council through Toe River Arts. Come take a listen and a look at the Appalachian heritage being preserved by our youth.
