Foodies will appreciate our locally owned spots and "hole in the wall" places like Link Hot Dogs in Marion. Eddy Link will serve up your traditional favorite dog, but Links is more than a good hot dog. There are all types of specialty sauces and extras like the Ramona Sauce, it's part of the Ramona Dog with cherry relish, pepper jam, and onions. It IS smoking! Vegetarians and vegans, house-made options like the tomato pie, veggie burger, veggie dogs, and a delish veggie version of the Philly Steak Sub have a loyal fan base.

Craft spirits? Yes! Marion's 310 District includes Mica Town Brewing and Taylors Brewing and Taproom. Stop by Keepers Cut Meadery for a tasting, it's one of a handful of North Carolina mead makers! Ask about their handcrafted chocolates and charcuterie boards.

Old Fort's Hillman Beer is known for more than their award-winning brews and cool vibe, their house-made veggie burgers and locally sourced menu items fuel the locals. Add Whaley Farm Brewing to the Old Fort list, opening in summer 2021.

Vineyards? Yes! The hills of western North Carolina are filled with vines and each vineyard reflects their varying styles, terroir, and personalities.  These boutique vineyards are scattered throughout our region between the Linville Falls area and the Lake James region. Call us to request a map and guide.

Pick up homemade goodies and produce from our seasonal tailgate markets. Regional foods like English Farmstead Cheese are available at local retailers including Flavors on Main in Marion. The cheese shop is open Fridays and Saturdays.
